Dj Gannon H

Gannon’s journey into music started in the desert heat of Las Vegas. He loved listening to the radio and calling into shows to make song requests for artists like  Lil Wayne and Linkin Park. Many road trip singalongs with his dad cemented his love for music. After stints in Phoenix and Iowa, he made his way to Minnesota—partly for the energy and work, but mostly for the Vikings (he needs to be here when they finally win that Super Bowl).

In college, he was station manager of Arizona State University’s radio station.  He loved interviewing artists and curating playlists that spoke to his classmates.  During school Gannon began writing and working as an entertainment journalist.  He has got a pulse on what’s new in music and an appreciation for the past. Over the years he has interviewed everyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Hippo Campus, and reviewed shows for artists like T-Pain, Green Day, and Maggie Rogers. Music’s in his blood, literally. Two of his three older brothers were DJs before him.

By day, Gannon writes for outlets like the Star Tribune, and by night he runs his music blog, highlighting the best of the indie and emo scenes.

When he’s not DJing or writing about DJs, Gannon’s out walking by the River, rating iced lattes, or being way to serious about breaking down movies.
